Webinar on Climate Change Agreements with Yemeni Youth Participation

August 31, 2023 A Webinar on the concepts related to climate change agreements concluded on Thursday, with the participation of a number of young Yemenis interested in environmental and sustainability issues.

The webinar was presented by distinguished young Yemeni experts, Amina Bint Talib and Alaa Mustafa, who discussed the importance of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its role in addressing the climate crisis at the global level.

The speakers also addressed the Conference of the Parties (COP) as the most important international event for discussing climate issues and making decisions, and stressed the need for youth participation in this conference to express their views and demands.

They also discussed the Conference of Youth (COY) as a platform dedicated to young people to discuss climate issues from their perspective and present their ideas and solutions to the challenges facing their countries.

The speakers emphasized the importance of the role of young people in addressing climate change, pointing out that young people are the most affected by these changes and that they have the energy and new ideas that can help solve this problem.

They urged young people to actively participate in global efforts to combat climate change by raising awareness of the importance of this issue, participating in environmental campaigns and initiatives, and pressuring governments and decision-makers to take decisive action to protect the environment.

The webinar witnessed a wide turnout from young Yemenis interested in environmental and sustainability issues, as many of the attendees participated in the discussions and asked questions to the speakers.
