A face-to-face Yemeni Youth Climate Agenda Conference was held today, Saturday, in the city of Mukalla, aiming to set an ambitious agenda to address the challenges of climate change in Yemen. The conference was attended by representatives of government and civil society institutions, civil society organizations, as well as researchers, experts, and climate-interested youth. The conference was characterized by youth interventions, the formulation of ideas, challenges, and recommendations that they consider appropriate for the future of Yemen's environment.

This event is an extension of a series of upcoming conferences that will be held in the capital, Sana'a, and also online to ensure that all voices of Yemeni youth are heard. The outputs of these conferences will be compiled to be presented at a number of international forums and events such as the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan.

This conference comes within a partnership between the "Sahsah" platform and the Dutch network WATGP, as part of the "Global Youth Agenda" project, and under the supervision of "Youth and Environment Europe" in cooperation with a number of local entities, including an organizational partnership with the Local Conference of Youth on Climate (LCOY Yemen).
